Alpharetta Death Certificate Fees

Certified death certificates cost $25.00 for the first copy. Each additional copy ordered at the same time is $5.00. O.C.G.A. § 31-10-26 sets these fees statewide. Cash, credit cards, and debit cards work at the walk-in window. Mail requests need a certified check or money order. Personal checks are not accepted.

The extra copy discount is for one visit or one mail order only. A later request means a fresh $25.00 charge. Alpharetta residents dealing with estate matters or insurance claims should get multiple copies at once. Most banks and insurance companies need their own certified copy of the death certificate.

Note: Fees are non-refundable even if no Alpharetta death record is found in the state database.
